Best place to stay for Mayo Clinic appointments

Room is adequate, beds comfortable. Terrific breakfast buffet is included. This is a great location for Mayo Clinic appointment and hospital stay at Methodist. Never have to go outside in the cold because it is connected on the Subway Level. There are less expensive hotels located to the South and they have free parking. Here part of what you pay for is the location and convenience

Great location, clean and comfortable

We recently stayed for 2 nights while visiting the Mayo Clinic. In a town where there is a strong culture of customer service, the Kahler Inn and Suites delivers as well as would be expected. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, though a bit dated (and the bathroom in our non-handicapped room felt a little small). Importantly for a cold January night, the climate control in our room worked perfectly, and we were able to control the thermostat. The room had plenty of outlets for our various chargers and devices. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel's amenities put it a cut above some of the other mid-scale hotels in the area. The location immediately across the street from the Charlton building can't be beat -- it's an easy walk at ground level, and the subway connection means that you don't have to brave the cold weather to get to your appointments. The hotel offers 3 eating choices -- Caribou coffee, Jimmy John's sandwiches and its own restaurant (CB3), so that there are good eating options if you choose not to leave the hotel for meals (this is in addition to the free breakfast that's provided). There's a comfortable lobby for sitting, and a pool if you're looking for some fun. There were several treadmills available, though I didn't use them. All in all, the location and convenience are great, and the value for the money is very good

Kahler Inn & Sutes

At check in we were given an upgrade for same amount of money. Nice clean and comfortable room. Next morning we met the host, Cheryl, at breakfast. She made us feel welcomed. We watched as she efficiently filled food trays, helped people with getting coffee, or clearing off their table. Always a smile on her face as she served. Thank you Cheryl for making our 3 day stay a warm and happy one at breakfast

Great Hotel

My mother and I stayed 2at weeks at The Kahler Inn & Suites while I had appointments at the Mayo Clinic. It was very convenient especially when we did not have a car. The hotel is attached to the Mayo Clinic by underground tunnels. The whole staff was amazing, helpful and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The $10.00 a night upgrade was well worth it, to have a setting area with a couch that pulled out to a bed, comfey chair, small kitchenette with small fridge and microwave. Our room also had 2 queen size beds. The cleaning staff was very friendly and professional. Cheryl that served us breakfast was always pleasant, professional and kept the food stocked and the area clean. While checking out The Bellman David was a huge help, very kind and professional. He arranged for us to get a shuttle to the Airport. Great experience and will be back here to stay again when I have to return in 3 months. In the Lobby is a Caraboo Coffee Shop that serves breakfast sandwiches and a wide variety of coffee and hot chocolate drinks. There is also a Jimmy John's and a Restaurant Bar that stays open until 11pm daily which comes in handy when most of everything shuts down on the weekends. There are also free shuttles to Wal-Mart which we took advantage of. Suites have: small one cup coffee maker, small refrigerator (No Freezer), Microwave, iron board and Hair dryer. NS Wichita Kansa

Chef at Kahler

This morning we ate breakfast at the Kahler Inn and Suites. The man who was setting up the breakfast bar, was so contentious, and took the needs of the diners so seriously, wanting to be sure the diners were satisfied. I pulled him aside and told him I'd never seen anyone like him. It turns out he is the Chef and general manager of the restaurants in the Kahler, which impressed me even more! Chef is worthy of recognition
