Staff supreme!

As always the staff was most accommodating, helpful and often going beyond the "call of duty". The hotel is very accessible to the Mayo Clinic's Escort service across the street from the lobby and through the subway level to which the bell person pushes my daughter's wheel chair. They will take her to either escort desk whichever desk would be closer to the building her appointments are scheduled. To us the room charge is well worth the access to the Mayo Clinic services and having the staff who willingly assists our needs. The inclusive breakfast is usually very good. Makes it easy to make selections and carry the breakfast back to the room for my daughter and myself without having to leave the hotel

Very nice for Mayo patients.

Excellent free hot breakfast from 6am until 10am, Sheri and David are always available to assist you at breakfast and are very pleasant. Rooms are nice. Very easy indoor access to Mayo. The restaurant is excellent with a Mayo menu

Mayo-bound

Bird poop on the windows, challenging heater, shower head that delivered only half the water...the other half down the drain via the the tub spout, an overly aggressive food service crew to write a review. Everything else was fine

Fantastic Location. A few things need to be addressed.

We love the convenience and location being so close to Mayo. The underground access makes things just so much easier, and this is about as close as you can get. We had a fine stay, but no hotel is perfect, and this is one of them. First of all, the room was very clean, and cleaning staff was just fantastic. Rooms were spacious, quality/clear/large TV, quality linens, and hot shower with good pressure. Cleaning staff even did our dishes daily (mini-suite). Rooms a bit dated, but no real complaints (outside of the key card not always working in the door). The pool area however is another story. The Hot Tub is VERY small (2-person?), and not well cared for, I understand they have space constraints, but whoever designed that pool area needs a career change, badly. Both the pool and hot tub were not well kept, both inside and out, especially underneath the heaters next to the hot tub (exactly at eye level when sitting in it). The Pool Table was also out of order the entire stay, and cushions on all pool area rec. chairs were badly in need of replacing. The breakfast was fairly sub-standard. The donuts served are obviously "day olds", the other items were usually all the same daily, eggs were instant, hash browns soggy, sausage patties surprisingly good. Though all the items were better than those pre-packaged preservative filled little debbie donuts offered. We kept to the fresh fruit most days. And though the staff (a bunch) running the breakfast is very, very nice, they do tend to pester the patrons a bit more than necessary. "Asking how everything is", "Enjoying Your Stay", "Be sure to rate us on Travel Advisor", etc.. Also we were told "Free Parking" when booked, a bit annoyed when we found out we were charged $10 a night when checking out. We did get a sense that much of the staff really appreciated their job, and just as many could care less. It was fairly obvious from a guest perspective which ones were which. All in all, we would likely stay again, but more for the location then the value for amenities

Hotel near Mayo Clinic

Nice hotel connected by subway to the Mayo Clinic buildings. Short walk where you don't have to go outside. Easily accessible, parking attached. Food from restaurant good; no room service, order and pick up yourself. No option for medical appointments under Type of Trip
